Quick Start
Social Network Analysis has never been easier: our new C-IKNOW public server allows anyone to create their own CIKNOW application to collect and analyze social network data online from almost any web enabled computer.
Creating a CIKNOW can now be done in less than minute, and users can now start collecting and analyzing data in just five easy steps.
- Register yourself in our Public Server, and create your first C-IKNOW project
- Customize your project preferences (Administration >> Preferences)
- Set-up the intended participants in your project, either manually or batch upload nodes list (Administration >> Nodes)
- Create your questionnaire. You make the questionnaire available over the web and collect data from the participants; You can also upload external data into C-IKNOW directly (Administration >> Survey Design)
- Visualize and analyze networks after data collection (VisualAnalytics)

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Can two people log on using the same admin password at the same time?
A: No, only one person can log on at a time with the same admin password. If a second admin logs in with the same password, neither person can properly view the project. Some elements appear accurate, however many visualizations cannot be seen. To solve the problem, one admin must log out. Note: if one admin merely closing the browser instead of logging out, the other admin remains unable to view the project properly. If the logged in admin still is having difficulty after the second admin logs out, clear the cache.
Q: Can I export all of the data from a C-IKNOW project at once instead of doing it question by question?
A: Yes, you can it will appear as a zipfile containing a separate text document for each question. There is no way to export the data so that all of the questions appear in one single document.
Q: What type of text file should I save my excel documents in order to import them into C-IKNOW?
A: Tab delineated.
Q: What if I create a survey but don’t know who will be taking it?
A: You can allow users to create self register by going to the Administration >> Preferences, and click on the Allow user registration box.
